I photographed my first senior citizen when I was 21 years old at Cal Poly. And I was surprised that his 91 one year old was a WWII veteran hero and had sky dived at the age of 90 years old, thus changing my perspective on our elders. I can tell you when I was 21 years old, I did not want to go sky diving! I ended up on this journey photographing thousands of WWII veterans around the country that resulted in a coffee table book published with Random House called THE LAST GOOD WAR.
Photographing the veterans opened up the door for me in working with senior living companies as a photographer and filmmaker telling the stories of their residents. Over the last 11 years, I have done a ton of both commissioned and personal work on our seniors. Below is a collection of my portraits photographs from the past few years:
